Our mission at HemaCare Donor Center is to support the advancement of medical research and the development of innovative therapies & potential cures for critical illnesses and diseases. Founded in 1978, HemaCare Donor Center has helped blood donors play an integral role in the development of new life-changing drugs and therapies for the medical and scientific community. We connect researchers around the world with blood, bone marrow, cord-blood, platelets, and mobilized stems cells. These donations help further the development of new treatments for various cancers and other diseases like Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Crohn’s Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Celiac Disease.

In early 2020, we aligned our donor centers located in Los Angeles, Memphis, and Boston, under our parent company Charles River Laboratories. Charles River’s global reach allows us to have a greater impact on the pursuit of life-changing cures, as the company supported the development of more than 85% of the drugs approved by the FDA over the past three years.
